We are committed to positive and transformative impact. Here are some of the ways we do it at Nile Safari Lodge.

REDUCING WASTE
A state-of-the-art ultraviolet water purification system has diverted waste from landfill by entirely eliminating plastic water bottles, in addition to other plastic waste reduction efforts. Guests receive reuseable water bottles upon arrival for their personal use on property.
SHRINKING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
Through the extensive use of solar panels, Nile Safari Lodge creates 100% of its power needs from renewable energy.
NUTURING NATURE
A tree-planting initiative offers guests an opportunity to actively participate in the reforestation and conservation of the surrounding area. The ensuing effects not only boost tree biodiversity, but oxygen production as well, while simultaneously restoring natural food sources and habitat for birds and wildlife.
GREEN IS IN THE HOUSE
With its on-site greenhouse, Nile Safari Lodge grows herbs and vegetables without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. And the property's eco-friendly pool utilizes a salt-based purification system free from harmful chemicals to protect the surrounding environment.
Protecting Wildlife
An innovative anti-poaching program called "Snares-to-Wares" partners with local artisans to repurpose wire snares into sculptures of wildlife. The artwork is then sold in the Lodge's gift shop, with all proceeds going back to the community, while also contributing to the protection of the area’s wildlife.
SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY
Working with the local leaders in nearby Mubako, Nile Safari Lodge modernized and restored three vital boreholes essential to providing clean drinking water. And to support the local economy, the property employs local performers who proudly share their cultural heritage through traditional music and dance.
